We were blessed to receive some trinkets from Blessings & Co, for the whole family.
For the daddy, since Father’s Day is coming up, I got him this tube cross in yellow gold. (I had originally wanted to get this pair of black round cufflinks for him, but he said he didn’t need a new pair.)
For big sister, I got her this white and pink dolphin necklet. Needless to say, she was thrilled to receive her first real piece of jewellery. Why the dolphin? Well, she’s been such a trooper during her swimming lessons, so I thought it was meaningful to spur her on with this. (I was tempted to get an ID bracelet for her too!)
As you can see, JJ was also keen to get a slice of the action. He came and told me, “Mummy, I want a special surprise too!” So…Guess what ended up around his neck?
This dolphin harmony ball (that we received as a surprise)! A harmony ball contains a tiny xylophone inside that creates a beautiful and soothing chiming sound. JJ noticed the sound when he was rolling the ball around, and for a while, he had this look of wonderment on his face. The boy was so pleased with his special gift!
Did you know there is actually a tradition of passing down harmony balls as heirlooms, but it is usually passed on to mothers to daughters. Well, I guess we could always defer a little bit from tradition.
