Some nights back, the hubby came home. He drew open the curtain separating the nursery from the dining room and saw me rocking baby to sleep.
Baby had not been sleeping well as he had caught a flu bug from Vera.
I must have looked quite forlorn or tired, but still I managed to give him a slight smile.
He disappeared behind the curtain. Then, he popped his head in again. This time, he walked through the heavy drapes, came to my side, and gave me a tight hug.
His arms squeezed my shoulder aches away momentarily; I could actually feel some tension escaping from within my muscles.
I felt…
loved,
appreciated,
strong again.
It made me realise the power of something so simple as a hug.
Have you hugged your loved ones today?
That’s sooooo nice! I am so in need of a hug now but hubby not around. Luckily his mini-me gives an upsized version for someone his size.
Thanks nerdymum. And yes, thank God for mini-mes!
so so so so so SWEET!!!!! =D Looks like physical touch is your love language! =) Then again, everyone loves a hug. =)
Hee, actually it’s words of affirmation.
But yes, everyone loves a hug.
That was such a sweet thing your hubby did! He must be the sentimental lovey dovey type right? I hug my kids more these days but I always remind myself to give my hubby a morning hug everyday. Gosh, I have to remind myself - sad.
I have to remind myself too, so don’t feel bad. Hugging doesn’t come that naturally for me…Hee, he’s not really the sentimental type, more the funny, make me laugh type, lol
